Our Leadership Team

Keith Hoogland

Keith Hoogland serves as Chief Executive Officer of Highland Ventures and provides strategic oversight for Legacy Commercial Property.

His long-standing commitment to real estate ownership and development helped build a national portfolio spanning hundreds of retail properties across multiple states. Today, he continues to guide investment, development, and long-term portfolio growth initiatives.

Keith and his wife Susan met at Vanderbilt University and have been married for more than 40 years, with a large and growing family of six children and twenty grandchildren. He remains closely connected to his alma mater today as a Vanderbilt trustee. Philanthropy is a primary focus for Keith, particularly in efforts to find a cure for Lymphoma; he helped establish a research tissue biobank at the University of Chicago, served on the Lymphoma Research Foundation's national board for more than a decade, and raised more than $10 million for LRF through Family Video.

Ben Hoogland

Ben Hoogland serves as President of Legacy Commercial Property, helping to guide the company's vision for growth through development, acquisitions, and strategic investment. With prior experience in investment banking and venture capital, he brings a disciplined approach to identifying opportunities and creating value across the portfolio.

Ben is instrumental in driving Legacy's expansion and serves as a primary leader in advancing the company's relationships, projects, and long-term strategy. Ben attended William and Mary, where he received his bachelor's degree in finance and history. He also was the captain of the Men's Tennis Team at William and Mary in 2013 and 2014. Receiving his MBA from Duke Fuqua, Ben lives in Nashville with his wife and two children.

Sam Stilp

As Managing Director, Office of Legacy Commercial Property, Sam Stilp leads the company's investment, development, redevelopment, financing, and asset management strategies across a national office portfolio. Since joining the organization more than a decade ago, he has played a key role in driving office portfolio growth, executing complex real estate transactions, and creating long-term value through disciplined investment and operational leadership.

His strategic vision and industry expertise continue to guide Legacy's expansion and portfolio performance nationwide. Sam earned finance degrees from Marquette University and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (MBA) and is a licensed Managing Broker and member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing with his family, running to the beach with his dogs at sunrise, golfing with friends and family, and live music from the Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, and Neil Young.

Deanna Flynn

As Vice President of Analytics & PMO, Deanna Flynn leads enterprise analytics, business intelligence, and project management initiatives across Highland Ventures and its operating companies. With more than a decade of experience within the organization, she has helped establish the data, reporting, and governance frameworks that support informed decision-making and operational efficiency across multiple industries.

Her expertise in analytics, process improvement, and cross-functional execution continues to drive organizational alignment and performance. Outside of work, Deanna enjoys getting lost in a good book, spending time with family and friends, baking, and staying active. When it's time to unwind, nothing beats sunshine, sand, and good company.

Rich Palumbo

With more than 20 years of experience guiding marketing teams for multi-brand, multi-location organizations, he brings a deep understanding of growth, customer engagement, and brand development.

His leadership helps drive awareness, strengthen brand positioning, and support business objectives. Rich is active in two Nashville-based nonprofit organizations, plays guitar in a cover band, is a member of a car club, and enjoys hiking, cycling and traveling with his family.

Dan Powers

As Director of Information Technology, Dan Powers provides leadership for the technology platforms, infrastructure, and systems that support Highland Ventures and its operating companies. Drawing on more than twenty years of experience, he has guided the execution of major IT initiatives that have strengthened operational capabilities across the organization.

His focus on innovation, performance, and long-term technology planning helps ensure the company remains well-equipped for the future. An Omaha native now living in Franklin, Tennessee, Dan is an avid bowler who spends his free time with his wife April, their kids and grandkids, and his hiking partner, Finley his dog.

Wally Boyd brings more than 20 years of experience in architecture and construction to Highland Ventures, where he oversees design and construction across the company's entire real estate portfolio. His expertise and attention to detail make him a key driver in the successful delivery and upkeep of the portfolio. Outside of work, Wally loves spending time with his wife of 25+ years and their five kids, whether hiking, skiing, boating, or traveling. He enjoys watching all sports, but cheering on the Michigan Wolverines is his favorite.

During his 20+ years with the organization, he has played a key role in expanding the portfolio through strategic acquisitions, leasing, and development initiatives while helping execute both short- and long-term business objectives.

His industry expertise, collaborative leadership, and transactional experience continue to strengthen Legacy's position in markets across the country.

Brent, his wife, and stepdaughter live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where family remains the center of his life, and he loves traveling to visit his children in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Billings, Montana. Outside of work, he's an avid motorcycle enthusiast who enjoys riding his Harley-Davidson and exploring communities across the country, discovering the unique character and growth that make each market distinct.

His entrepreneurial mindset and collaborative approach continue to drive innovation and expand opportunities across the company's diverse portfolio.

Outside of work, Levi enjoys spending time with family, fishing, and — true to form — hunting down the next great off-market real estate opportunity.

With more than 30 years of experience at Highland Ventures, Shawn Krisher oversees leasing and acquisition efforts across Legacy Commercial Property's portfolio throughout the South and Midwest. His extensive market knowledge and relationship-driven approach continue to strengthen Legacy's portfolio and support successful partnerships across the regions he serves.

Shawn is a graduate of the University of Illinois and lives in Edmond, Oklahoma, with his wife, Carol, and their five children, Emerson, Ella, Eden, Eliza, and Jackson. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, playing indoor soccer, and — true to form — making deals happen.

His relationship-driven approach, strategic negotiation, and team leadership continue to support strong occupancy and long-term asset performance throughout the region.

Matt's greatest roles are husband and father to his wife and two kids — when he's not at work, you'll likely find him out on a run or watching the Reds.

Matthew Hill

Jason joined Legacy shortly after graduating from Montana State University, and outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters and fly fishing.

His days are kept lively by his 10-year-old daughter's dreams of becoming a world-class dancer, his 8-year-old son's aspirations of being the next Messi, and his 16-month-old daughter, who keeps him and his wife on their toes.

Jason Svedberg oversees property management operations across Legacy Commercial Property's Southwest region, supporting the day-to-day performance of a growing commercial portfolio while also contributing to leasing efforts in the area. With nearly 20 years of experience leading multi-site operations across the restaurant and commercial real estate industries, he brings a strong track record of driving operational excellence, maximizing asset performance, and managing portfolios ranging from a handful of locations to more than 100.

His relationship-driven leadership style, rooted in trust, accountability, and team development, helps ensure well-managed properties and strong operational performance across the region.

In his spare time, Jason and his wife enjoy traveling to experience new cultures and food, along with camping and hiking with their two dogs.

Jason Svedberg

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Darrell has called Chicago home for the past 22 years and earned his Business Marketing degree from the University of Wisconsin; outside of work, he enjoys hiking, running, OCRs, live music, and sporting events.

Tara Platt drafts, negotiates and prepares lease agreements across the portfolio of 700+ properties, partnering with outside legal counsel, leasing, construction and property teams to complete contract analysis, compliance review, and documentation management. She brings more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience, with expertise in retail and restaurant leasing, renewals, and complex lease transactions.

Her knowledge of lease documentation and commitment to accuracy support efficient transactions and strong partnerships throughout the organization.

Outside of Legacy, Tara spends much of her time on the courts — cheering on her son, a twice-nationally ranked high school volleyball player (her daughter played too) or playing tennis and pickleball herself.

Supporting Legacy Commercial Property's portfolio, McKenzie Reeves coordinates real estate billing and utility management, working closely with the property management team to help keep day-to-day processes running smoothly. She brings more than three years of industry experience, with a strong focus on organization, accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration.

Her attention to detail and responsive approach helps support efficient portfolio management across the organization.

Outside of work, McKenzie enjoys spending time with her dog, making memories with family and friends, and cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a proud fan.

Shelby Sabga oversees operational initiatives that support Legacy Commercial Property, driving process improvements and efficiencies across acquisitions, leasing, construction, property management, and accounting. She brings more than 10 years of commercial real estate experience, with expertise in operational strategy, financial analysis, budgeting, systems implementation, and developing scalable processes that improve workflows across the organization.

Her strategic mindset and ability to streamline complex structures continue to strengthen the company's operational foundation.

Outside of work, Shelby enjoys being outdoors, having traded the Rockies for the Smokies and taking trips to the mountains or beach whenever possible. She loves spending time with her husband and two children, and of course, cheering on the Crimson Tide.

Outside of work, Sophia enjoys a good book, traveling to new places and spending time outdoors with her husband, and hunting down her next favorite ice cream shop.
